GREETINGS TO ALL
We at Keep the Children’s Dream are very grateful to all our loyal donors, as we are coming towards the end of another year. It has really been a tough year for the community as well as for the donors. We really thankful to our donors. We know it’s been very tough this year and yet you still find it in your hearts to donate. There are many families out there today with no work and having to give up their homes as they don’t have money to keep it. So many families are forced to go live at night shelters, havens or squatter camps, which is getting over crowded. Even the pensioners today are having it tough. They do not have enough money for food for the whole month.
FOOD RUN
We at Keep the Children’s Dream go out every week into the community with 500L pots of food such as curry and rice, chicken akni or lovely lamb dahl. As Keep the Children’s pulls up with our van, children from all directions come running with lunch boxes, bowls, plates and sometimes even a cup to get some wholesome cooked food. It is such a great feeling for us at Keep the Children’s Dream to light up the hearts of hungry children as well as their parents. We at Keep the Children’s Dream can go home feeling good as we know many families had a good wholesome meal. Everyone could not stop thanking us. We give Thanks/ Shukr to the Almighty.
CLOTHING DISTRIBUTION
As food is the biggest need in our community, so is clothing. As one knows clothing is very expensive and children are always growing out of their clothing. We distribute clothing only when we have enough for an area. We pack the clothing in bags from babies, boys, girls ladies and men’s so that everyone gets and there is no unfairness. Shukran/Thanks to all our donors as well. We could cover a few areas such as Kapteinsklip station, 7 de Laan, we did both sides. Town Centre, we distributed near the police station and by the train station so both sides got. We gave to Westridge Heights, Oord se oor and Freedom Park clothing as well. Khayelitsha Masjied got a lot of Islamic clothing as well as the Masjied in Heinz Park. Shukran/ Thanks to all our donors once again, may the Almighty grant you and your family abundantly.
OLD AGE
We the staff at Keep the Children’s Dream went out into the community to some older folks as you do know many of our elders are forgotten. So what we have done is to show them there are people out there who do still care. We went out into different communities and gave them a warm cooked wholesome meal. We gave out some fruit. We gave toiletries packs to each one. We had some entertainment for them as well. It was a wonderful experience for us, the staff of Keep the Children’s Dream to see how we lightened up the elderly peoples day with lots of love and enjoyment. It was such an overwhelming feeling.
STORY
A very poor woman called a religious radio station asking for help. A bad, evil man who was listening to this radio program decides to make something out of it. He got her address, called his secretary and ordered her to buy food and take to the lady with the following instructions: “when the lady asks who sent the food tell her that it’s from the devil”. When the secretary arrived, the woman was so happy and she started putting the food inside. The secretary asked her, “don’t you want to know who sent the food?” The lady answered: “No, it doesn’t matter, because when the Almighty orders, even the devil obeys!”
Words for thought: No one will ever get poorer by GIVING!
Shukran/ Thank you!!!!!!
